SUMMARY:California High-Speed Rail Authority Webinar 2/13/25
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the upcoming informational webinar: Proposed requirements for the use of zero-emission (ZE) construction equipment on upcoming Fresno early activation projects \nIn support of its net-zero greenhouse gas emission commitments\, the California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) is developing requirements for the use of zero-emission (ZE) equipment to construct an accessibility and seismic retrofit of the Fresno Historic Southern Pacific Railroad Depot\, the development of a plaza and open space in downtown Fresno\, and a landscaped plaza and parking with ZE vehicle charging in Chinatown near the Fresno Historic Depot. The Authority is exploring requiring that all construction equipment used on these projects to be ZE unless the applicant can demonstrate that an exemption is warranted. In this webinar\, the Authority will describe the ZE requirements\, how they relate to the scope of these downtown Fresno projects\, anticipated equipment needs\, and ZE equipment availability. Agency representatives will also present details on the applicability of funding and financial incentive programs for ZE equipment and charging infrastructure deployment. The Authority will seek important feedback from construction contractors and other related construction industry stakeholders in a survey following the webinar. The webinar recording will be hosted on the HSR website after the event\, and the survey will remain open through March 14th\, 2025. Final requirements are scheduled for release in Summer 2025. \n \nREGISTER NOW

SUMMARY:Public Workgroup Meeting: Professional Landscape Service Equipment - Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE)
DESCRIPTION:The California Air Resources Board (CARB) hosted a public workgroup meeting to discuss Professional Landscape Service Equipment as part of the Clean Off-Road Equipment Voucher Incentive Project (CORE). Staff provided an overview and background information for the zero-emission equipment incentive project for professional landscape equipment and presented proposed changes to Attachment D of the CORE Implementation Manual (IM). The IM provides guidance to each of manufacturers\, dealerships\, and purchasers including topics as how to apply for equipment eligibility\, participation terms and conditions\, and the voucher request process. This meeting was an opportunity for stakeholders to provide input to CARB staff on proposed changes to the IM\, streamlining of manufacturer equipment eligibility\, and the implementation timeline. \nSenate Bill 170 (Skinner\, Chapter 240\, Statutes of 2021) allocated $30 million for CARB to establish a statewide program that incentivizes the purchase of zero-emission landscaping equipment by small-businesses and sole proprietors doing professional landscaping in California. CARB incorporated this incentive funding into its existing CORE project framework as a Professional Landscape Service Equipment voucher project. The project was launched in September 2022. The application period closed in October 2023\, when all funding for zero-emission landscaping equipment was allocated. Since then\, approximately $6-7 million remains from vouchers that were issued but have expired and were left unredeemed. This workgroup meeting facilitated the discussion of the process and timeline for reopening the application period for the remaining funding. Missed the workgroup? Check out the workgroup recording:  \n\nAgenda\nPowerPoint Presentation\nWorkgroup Recording\n\nBackground\nCalifornia Climate Investments Low Carbon Transportation Funding \nCORE is part of California Climate Investments\, a statewide program that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions\, strengthening the economy and improving public health and the environment\, particularly in disadvantaged communities. CARB’s Low Carbon Transportation Program is designed to accelerate the transition to low carbon freight and passenger transportation with a priority on providing health and economic benefits to California’s most impacted communities. \nTo receive funding updates\, please subscribe to the CORE Project’s listserv by visiting our Contact Us page and enlist in the California Air Resources Board mailing to participate in upcoming workshops and workgroups. \nMORE INFORMATION\nContact\nIf you have questions or comments regarding this workgroup\, please contact Dr. AJ Edwards\, Air Resources Engineer. \nIf you require a special accommodation or need this document in an alternate format (i.e. Braille\, large print) or another language\, please contact alexandria.vitali@arb.ca.gov as soon as possible.
